We can very well remember when we first heard about KSHMR like 4 years ago. We saw him perform at the DJ Mag top 100 DJ’s awardshow at the Heineken Music Hall (now re-named to AFAS LIVE). We’ve been tracking him ever since & love his latest tune, which is called ‘Magic’.
Following his recent performances at Amsterdam Music Festival and Escape Wonderland, dynamic DJ and producer KSHMR is back, this time delivering his brand-new single, ‘Magic.’
Following another huge summer, KSHMR continues on a whirlwind run of US dates in support of ‘The Giant’ North American Tour. ‘Magic’ will be released on KSHMR‘s own Dharma Worldwide label, and showcases the Californian’s upbeat style through explosive chord patterns, and a deliciously vibrant hook.
The production of ‘Magic’ began over 3 years ago, initially an idea with producer Adrian Lux. As they struggled to find the right sound, Niles decided to create a version of his own that gave him a similar feeling to his earlier track ‘Secrets‘ with Tiesto.
“The vocal was just so catchy it gave me the same feeling that Secrets did without having to force it. I’ve been experimenting so much lately with different genres and I wanted to do something again like my older work “Secrets.” That was such a big song but I want to be weary of trying to imitate past successes and just have them come naturally.”
Best known for his huge 2015 Tiesto collaboration ‘Secrets’ (over 40 million Spotify streams), KSHMR has since produced a wealth of huge tracks like ‘Megalodon,’ ‘Burn’ ‘Karate’ and ‘Wildcard’ – the latter on Tiesto‘s Musical Freedom label – and soon began to garner interest worldwide, teaming up with Headhunterz on ‘Dharma‘ and collaborating with Hardwell on‘Power.’
Later awarded with DJ Mag‘s ‘Best Live Act‘ award, a nod to the vast array of instruments used in shows; and a foreshadowing of his Ultra 2017 performance, when the American was joined by a 7 person band, including keyboard, violin, viola, cello, flute, trombone and taiko drum, KSHMR prides himself on his own creative freedom, and hands-on approach in the studio.
Ranking at #18 in the latest DJ Mag Top 100 rankings, KSHMR’s ‘Sounds of KSHMR‘ sample packs supply the public with all the tools they need to become producers themselves, with the packs becoming the #1 selling artist sample pack on Splice in the process.
Headlining huge festivals such as Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, and Coachella, KSHMR’s recent tour saw the Californian bring snow machines, fire bowls, and 4D special effects to his crowds as he once again goes above and beyond for his fans, cementing his reputation as one of the most dynamic and diverse acts in global electronic music right now.
