Veteran DJ/producer, Burns, takes us on a musical journey with his next single, “Make It Clap”. The record features a driving, electro-house buildup, with an unexpected, yet very well executed tech-house drop and breakdown. The vocals – “Put that ass up on the floor, make it clap, clap, clap, clap” – are even a bit of a tease as one might think that it leads into a trap or moombah-infused drop. “Make It Clap” is the prime example of a successful genre-hopping tune; it will resonate with everyone out on the dancefloor and will keep the crowd rocking.
As with most artists, producing music started out as just a hobby for UK native, Matthew Burns. Nearly a decade after he began producing his own tracks, he released two EPs on 2112 Records. In this same year, he embarked on tour with both deadmau5 and Calvin Harris as tour support. Two years later, he released his single “Iced Out” on Calvin Harris’ label, Fly Eye Records. His biggest hit, “Lies” came in September 2012 with remixes from Skream, Tiga, Acrobat, and Otto Knows, remained in tier A of the BBC Radio 1 playlist for seven consecutive weeks, and peaked at #32 in the UK Singles Chart and #36 in the Netherlands. To start off 2015, he had his debut on Spinnin’ Records – “About U” – a collaboration with Tommy Trash. “Make It Clap” will be his third release on Spinnin’, but his first under the DOORN imprint so we are excited to see what it does for this veteran’s career.
