Mysteryland, the world’s longest running dance music festival, will become the first festival in the world to showcase the event using a Virtual Reality (VR) livestream when it takes place this weekend. The festival which focuses on music, culture & arts and sustainability, takes place on Saturday August 27th and Sunday August 28 in Haarlemmermeer, The Netherlands.
Never before has a festival of this size used such an advanced technology, whereby fans can experience the festival through special glasses using an app or on the Mysteryland YouTube channel, as if they were there in the flesh. The special VR livestream will consist of a mix of music from both leading and emerging artists. In addition, fans can an engage in all of the art installations on the festival terrain from the comfort of their own couch. The livestream will be broadcast on Saturday, August 27th from 12:00 to 23:00 and on Sunday, August 28th from 14:00 to 23:00 via an app and https://www.youtube.com/user/mysterylandvideo.
The Living Room
Besides the unique livestream, there will be 360° videos of both days shared through the festival’s social media channels. The short video clips offer guests a visually stimulating view of places where visitors would not be able to reach. Another unique feature at Mysteryland is The Living Room: A Virtual Reality Experience. On top of the iconic pyramid of the festival there is an area set up where visitors can relax and at the same time not miss any of the action during the festival.
The Line-Up
This year, Mysteryland bursts at the seams with two full days of stages showcasing sounds from: EDM to afrobeat, techno to hiphop and hardstyle to disco. On the line-up are world class players such as Diplo, Afrojack, Martin Garrix, Galantis (LIVE), Sam Feldt, Robin Schulz, Tchami, Gorgon City, Seth Troxler, Dave Clarke, Surgeon featuring Lady Starlight, Wildstylez, Brennan Heart, A-Trak, and Sander van Doorn. Stage hosts and cooperating parties are Q-dance, Spinnin’ Sessions, Elrow, Dave Clarke Presents, Milkshake Festival, Kris Kross Amsterdam, The Partysquad presents Rebel Yard, Radio Noet Noet, Studio Barnhus and Triphouse Rotterdam.
Prestigious art installations
The Culture & Arts program of Mysteryland this year is world class. Several leading international artists create installations for the festival. The Mainstage is designed by American Kate Raudenbush, who is best known for her work at Burning Man Festival. As a gesture to all residents of the city of Haarlemmermeer, artist duo ATM creates a lasting work of art from recycled wood beneath the infamous pyramid. The collective WERC will be at the foot of the imposing pyramid with a light installation on the water where all luminous elements can move independently.
Extra precautions for the weather
The weather forecast promises for a glorious sun-filled weekend. Therefore, the festival has added additional canopies throughout the terrain, there is more water available for guests, our sun protection teams will be walking around to lather you up in SPF, and there are cooling fans installed in the tents. Visitors are allowed to bring small water guns and unopened bottles of sunscreen.
